Hard Count is a vision driven, goal focused governmental affairs / business development firm with a proven history of innovation and achievement. Hard Count began in 1995 as predominately a grass-tops and grass-roots advocacy firm performing work for 5 of the top communication firms in D.C. (which they continue to perform work for today). Since then it has evolved into a full service firm that includes creation of the top local option consulting component in the country and representing both public and private clients at every level of the governmental affairs spectrum.  The principals and associates with Hard Count represent more than 150 years of experience in governmental affairs, public relations, crisis management, campaign and media strategies.

The advocacy and communication landscape has changed dramatically over the past 3 decades from securing handwritten letters to decision makers, to reaching out via twitter, Facebook and other social media platforms.  Creating communication strategies that rarely incorporate "snail" mail but instead require you-tube videos, Facebook pages, "splash" web pages, and utilization of all forms of social media to both educate the target audience and influence the decision makers. These techniques are now essential to a complete strategy of delivering the appropriate messaging to create positive results.

Hard Count has evolved and maintained leading edge technology; which is demonstrated through a recent example of an advocacy plan that we developed and implemented for Boston Scientific.  The plan required building relationships with community and organization leadership within a desired demographic target to introduce a new approach to asthma therapy and treatment, through our efforts the treatment was highlighted and promoted at 20 area health expos and increased inquiries by more than 30%; this provided an even deeper perspective on securing private/public partnerships in leading edge technologies, and developing a marketing and communications plan that utilized a position on an agenda in 20 community events to promote a client's brand, product and philosophy.
